Negative Thoughts Distort Your Reality

When you have low self-esteem, you have a negative view of yourself. However, your negative thoughts are your own perception. It’s not what others see and it does not reflect your actual self-worth. Your negative thoughts are, therefore, a distortion of reality.

It's very easy to believe your own perception. Negative thoughts cause negative feelings and these make the thoughts seem very real. As a result, you believe that your low self-esteem is your actual worth as a person. However, this is not the truth.

Believing your negative thoughts or feelings may prevent you from taking action and can keep you very stuck. In order to build your self-esteem, you need to take action regardless of your negative thoughts or feelings. Step outside of your comfort zone and challenge yourself.

Hey Fay,
Good post. I agree... negative thoughs can effect your life on the mental and physical level. A positive mindset is crucial for living a more satisfying life.
I liked what you said about doing something anyway even if it makes you uncomfortable. You have to get comfortable with feeling uncomfortable. :)

Thanks very much for sharing your thoughts.
It certainly pays to put up with some discomfort. It is temporary and an essential part of growing yourself. The benefits are worth it. Your comfort zone will grow and you'll become comfortable with things you once found uncomfortable.
