Five Reasons To Let Go of Anxiety
Why Should You Let Go of Anxiety?
1. Anxiety has taken up too much of your life.
Anxiety takes loads of energy to sustain. It sucks that energy from you. So if Anxiety is around, you have much less energy for other important things in your life. There is nothing good about this waste. Life is precious, every moment is precious. (i.e., Loving and connecting with people trumps isolation to "protect yourself" from losing a loved one. Taking a risk beats forgoing great opportunities. Reaching out is more gratifying than letting words go unspoken.) Enough is enough! Live free from fear!
2. You deserve happiness.
Sometimes things have happened to us that makes us feel like there is something wrong with us, and so, we deserve to feel bad, in pain, and fearful. This is a lie! You do not deserve this, not one little bit! Don't believe that for a moment. You deserve to be happy and free to make choices without Anxiety getting in your way. There are so many cool things you can do if you were not restricted by Anxiety. Make a list.
3. Anxiety doesn't serve you, your family, or the greater good.
Fear, in response to a dangerous situation, is biologically designed to keep us safe. But Anxiety has no point. Anxiety has us feeling like we are in danger when we aren't, and then feel helpless since there is nothing to do to protect ourselves. It does nothing for our relationships, often causing problems instead of helping us get close to people. And Anxiety does not help us save the world.
4. Enough is enough!
Aren't you fed up? Since there is no point to Anxiety, let it go! Sometimes it is scary to heal, we know this way of being, what if healing feels worse? Repeat after me: It cannot feel worse, "healed" by definition is feeling better. Don't miss out on the rest of your life. Let go of Anxiety today!
5. You can!
By now you are saying, "Of course I don't want this but I can't figure it out how to let go of Anxiety." Or "I would if I could!" Anxiety's biggest tactic against you is having you think that you have no control over it. But I know, with Anxiety, you do have control! And finding that control is your ticket to getting rid of it! First, find some little places in your life where something is so important to you, Anxiety cannot get the upper hand: You do it anyway. Ask yourself how you do it and why. This is how you have control. Use this same method with each of the things Anxiety seems to have control over. One by one, you will be able to let go of all of your Anxieties!
Happy New Year! (And, I mean that literally!) Make 2013 a happier, freer year!

Thank you for the tips, Jodi. I especially like the first one--anxiety has definitely taken up too much of my life!
Happy New Year to you!
Jodi, Isn't it amazing how anxiety can paralyze you, preventing you from moving forward. Thank you for the reminder to let it go. Sometimes we just have to hear it in order to take action.
We all are waiting for an invitation, I'm going to give it!
[...] not dear, Fear. I am not sorry to say that this relationship is over! I have panicked enough! And I am done with you. Done. Done. Done. [...]
I think one of the difficulties of letting go of anxiety is that over a lifetime, it becomes a part of who we are. As strange as it may seem, letting go of our anxieties means letting go of a part of who we are and hopefully replacing it with something more constructive.
