Adult ADHD and Decreasing Anxiety Using EFT
Ever wonder if tapping on your face could decrease your anxiety? Having Adult ADHD can be stressful and decreasing anxiety is always a good thing to strive for.
Using the emotional freedom technique, aka tapping, I have learned to decrease my stress in little to no time. Yes, this sound not real, but it is for me. I've been doing this tapping for a few months and it really helps in the moment and there is definite carryover into other aspects of my life. I demonstrate the emotional freedom technique in the video below, please enjoy!

This seems to have a similar effect to meditation or eating a large bowl of ice cream: it gives the user a self-calming mechanism, that gently distracts attention away from the source of anxiety and directs it toward the current activity. Some sources are indicating some sort of mystical life forces or chakras or chi involved, but that's putting an extra layer of magic over what is a simple self-soothing process.
It's good it worked for you, it is simply annoying for me. I use a form of visualization where I tell myself that the anxiety and worries are like a river that flows towards the coast, then out to the ocean and the universe takes it away. I do not stop the anxiety, I acknowledge that it is there, thank anxiety for protecting me and then release it from it's "duty." That's when it flows out to the ocean and out to the universe. I can do it now in a matter of a minute. I find that far more effective than EFT.
For how long do you do each motion? The video is difficult to hear.
You do each tap 7 times. So, you do the one on the upper lip seven times and then below the lip seven times etc
Is there any websites that explore the Physical and Mental that happen while doing this action?any research?Thank you.
The EFT Universe website has a whole list of research about the method, but many of the articles you need to pay for sadly. If you're affiliated with any educational place, you might be able to get free access to some through your library. This site also goes through a brief summary and then gives links to more info about what happens in the body with EFT.
