Change Is Necessary for Growth: Goodbye to 'Living a Blissful Life'

June 20, 2017 Silke Morin

Change is necessary for anyone's personal growth, and I've found it's time for me to move on. Change is necessary for me to realize a different dream. Namaste.

Friends, change is necessary so I am moving on from my stint as an author of the Living a Blissful Life blog. For the last year, I focused on sharing my experiences with you, hoping to provide helpful and positive steps you can take to live a more blissful life. But it’s time for me to move on; this change is necessary for my personal growth.

Change Is Necessary and Difficult

Moving on requires change, a necessary but difficult part of life. Without change, we become stagnant. Stuck in our ways and trapped in routine, we can’t challenge ourselves.

Change is necessary because it stimulates growth. It forces us to try new things, to shift ourselves in a different direction. This is surely part of living a blissful life, being open to new opportunities and to maturing in new ways.

Change Is Necessary to Write More

What will I do when I stop writing this blog? Well, first, I want to focus more on my own writing. One of my life goals is to write and publish a book. I’ve talked about this dream for over 25 years.

Yet, I’ve never written that book. Instead, I’ve found excuses for why I haven’t written it. I’ve just never had the time. I don’t know how to start (or end) my story. My writing skills need more polishing. The list goes on and on.

One of the lessons I've learned from this blog is to stop making excuses and start living the life you want. So, I’m publicly announcing that this transition away from HealthyPlace will be to focus on finally realizing this dream. I’m moving on to write that book.

Change Is Necessary to Work on Myself

The second reason I’m moving on is that I want to take some personal, reflective time. I've reached a point where I need to assess certain areas of my life that still need serious work. I’m okay being imperfect, we all should be okay with that, but clinging to behaviors that continue to create damage and pain for myself and others in my life is not okay.

Another lesson I've learned from this blog is to let go of the things that hold you back. If you engage in behaviors that interfere with your personal evolution and growth, you are preventing yourself from achieving bliss and enduring joy.

So, it's time I took a long, hard look at some of my negative behavior patterns. It's time to focus on me and work to change for the better.

We All Benefit from Necessary Change

When I stop being an author of this blog, there will be a new author. Someone else will have the opportunity to share his or her unique experiences about bliss, what it means and how to realize it in your life.

Moving, shifting, changing - it's all part of the life process and we all benefit from it.

Thank you and namaste.

Thank you for sharing this! I think it is so powerful to read about others courageous experiences. Change is truly a necessity for life, because whether we realize it or not (or want to admit it) life is constantly changing all around us. So, if we try to stay still and stagnant we're only going against the natural flow of things. Still, leaning into change can be scary. It's very comforting to read about others blazing a new trail and leading the way ; )
